We did the (almost impossible). We got first dibs on a canceled order at our local dealership. Got word on it, agreed on a price,and was at the desk putting down a deposit an hour later.

I'm reminded of the old saying "A Maverick in the garage is worth two in the order books..."

I also chose to pay some ADM in order to get a '22 Lariat FE (Area 51, my 2nd choice color) that someone else rejected. Part of the reasoning was that I seriously doubt that my wife and I will both have our other hybrid orders fulfilled.

Yeah, I paid above MSRP, but A) I could afford to pay cash for it, and B) I sold my Prius-C for almost as much above what I thought was it's "real" value to make up for the ADM, and C) I had previously sold a 2015 Chevy 2500 HD diesel pickup with 57K miles on it for only $300 less than I paid for it back in 2014. I feel like I'm still WAY ahead of the game!

And I'm driving a Maverick instead of the crappy 2012 Prius-C! Wins all around!
