Greetings fellow Maverick owners and future owners (sorry to hear it's been a long wait for many). I decided that I've seen enough Youtube clips, online reviews, and read enough on this forum. So the wife and I drove to a dealer with a demo Maverick sitting on the lot. We placed our order at the beginning of the week. I had never ordered a vehicle before as I'm usually the guy looking for a bargain at the end of the model year on a vehicle that has sat around. I believe it was Doug DeMuro's review that just happened to pop up first that caught my attention. I did go ahead and put down a deposit. Maybe it gets coded to build faster (I have no idea). But as we are 100 percent sure we want the vehicle (regardless of the wait) it was a non-issue.

Ford is really making some noise (and I'm not a fan boy). This vehicle is insanely practical, but looks to be just as fun. Fun for modding, light off roading, family vehicle, etc. All for 26k before aftermarket. I'm also by no means an expert nor claiming to be. If you know something I dont, I am open to feedback.

I'll post in the Midwest forum as well as I would be interested to see if any club is starting up. I thought I'd list what I ordered and what I plan to add short term and long term. I figured why not post a storyline as I go and add pictures (probably good for a laugh while I wait for months). I plan on seeing if the dealer will help with some of these things, and if I have a good experience I'll give a postiive review. I was told to expect a 2 to 3 month wait on an ecoboost Maverick, the hybrids were done (as noted all over this forum) this year, and even a Bronco order may not arrive until July. I think the Hybrid is a special case. I was thinking even 2 or 3 months might be really hopeful thinking, but I am guessing ecoboosts ordered at the end of this year will get delivered in March, April, or May. And I figured I might as well get in line.

Ordered- 2022 Maverick XL, Black, 2.0L Ecoboost, AWD, 4k Tow, bed extender, (close to) full size spare
Spray in Bedliner to be done by the dealer
Immediate Aftermarket Planned- Cruise Crontrol Add-on, tinted windows, auto start/stop eliminator (hate that), painted/powder coated steelies, upgraded tires.

I'm open to thoughts on the tires. I'd really like an aggressive look, but I also care about getting around in the snow, good ride quality, and decent acceleration. For that reason I was looking at 235/70/R17. Genneral Grabber HTS 60.

I was also looking at having the grill painted black along with other small trim pieces (like the mirrors).

Has anyone had their dealer do the cruise control on the XL, paint your wheels, etc?

Mid Term Plans
Leather Seats, Wheel, and upgrading other trim pieces. Leather for all cloth/center console. Speaker upgrade as aftermarket comes out. Not sure if I should be looking at exhaust to more or less improve the sound. I think I'll need to drive it around for a couple weeks to decide.

Long Term (3 to 5 years out for warranty purposes)-
It sounds like we can probably expect a bolt-on upgrade for the turbo. Maybe an intake and exhaust work to go along with it. And of course a mild tune.

It might be surprising how much the performance community gets into this down the road.

Anyways... start the clock. Any feedback based on your experience is more than welcome.

Future Maverick Owner, Current Mavi Jeans Wearer.
