Agreed! The Mav is my 5th small-ish truck. It has the best bed with the standard tie-downs, cubby for bungee cords and rope and the ability to partition the bed is the most useful bed of them all.

One of the beauties of getting the Maverick is hauling fuel for my Cessna 172D. I can put ethanol free fuel (called marine gas around here) in the 172, but I have to haul it from the gas station. Before, I'd have to put it in back of my Tiguan and I was always concerned about getting rear ended. Now fuel stores neatly in the back of the bed and the Flexbed partition keeps it from moving around....perfect.

Hope the video of the Cubby's comes through. I added a 12V marine socket to the drivers side Cubby. I may add another socket to the passenger side later...dunno.

Interesting story about ordering the Cubbys from fordparts.com. The order was still processing after several days so I went by the dealer and they had no clue anything was ordered. The dealer offered to cancel the order and get the Cubby's overnighted and I did get them the next morning. I called fordparts.com to make sure the money got credited to my card. They said I'd have to pursue that through the dealer. And...it sometimes takes 10 days for them to process an order. I won't order anything else from fordparts.com!

Fretman_2: What's the length you cut that 2x? board? Any wobble or rattle when you leave it in the bed?

It was a 2X8 that I cut down to a 2X6. The 2X8 worked, but the 2X6 was much easier to manipulate into place. An additional 2X4 on top makes the partition even higher if needed and that's what I did. There's plenty of height in that slot for the additional 2X4.

I believe the dimensions for the 2X6 was 54 and 3/8 inches (but double check that). The 2X6 isn't wedged in there tight, but there's no wobble or rattle that I can tell and I do have the spray in bed liner. The lengths for the 2X4's that go into the top slots is a little more than the 2X6 so be careful there. If you cut the top 2X4's to 54 and 3/8 inches, they'll still work, but you'll have about an additional 1/2 inch of space.

The amount of space you can create in the Maverick is awesome. Well done Ford!
