So, after taking suggestions from folks about strong car mount cubby solutions, I settled on a solution I was happy with using a LISEN magsafe car mount attached to an Akro HD cubby mount. Everything was cool until I put the phone in a dbrand ghost case I got some weird warning about the location of the magnet on my apple watch. The print was so small, I couldn't read the whole thing.
Then, the usb-c connection was going in and out. Like if I wiggled it, or rebooted the Sync 3, it would be fine. Otherwise, it would stop charging on a cable, and apple car play would disconnect. It would work for a little while, until something got bumped. I even had myself convinced that either the cable was bad or the usb-c connection in the console was soft. I am going to see dealer in a month for inspection, so I put it on my list.
Then it dawned on me to try a different case. So, I switched to the NOMAD X PEAK DESIGN Rugged Case and I have not had any issues since. Do you think perhaps the other case was too thin causing this issue? I've contacted dbrand and I'm waiting a response.
