In a nutshell, Regular or oversized?

First, the plan is to use it in the bed of the truck, raised up on a couple of 2x12s so that the ends will clear the bed edges.

As far as users, it would just be me and a dog. I was looking at the "Original" primarily because it does not require supports for the ends, However, I expect that I will use a couple of collapsing poles on the ends, just for my peace of mind.

Then I noticed, in this review, that he is using the oversized model and has not unfolded the supports on the ends.

That brings to the request for opinions, regular or oversized?

The only one even in stock right now is the original/anniversary edition. This is what I recently purchased to do a similar setup and the original is fine for me at 5’9” / 175lb. It doesn’t have the end supports and so far that hasn’t been an issue in the slightest. I think the only difference in the over size one is the tent-like top structure with the cross poles Which may be better for sitting but I haven’t missed that extra space while sleeping.

The oversized has a pole separating each half (lengthwise) very uncomfortable.

I placed an order for the "Original." When it gets here, I will work on some sort of support for it.
