Ordered FWD 2.0 Ecoboost XLT Trim on Jan 26 within 2 hours of order closure. Delivered Nov 25. All features consistent with the order. 2 keys. 16 miles on the odometer (expected because I said I had to hit the ground running and use the vehicle). Told the salesmen to make sure it was checked out. A good bit of the checkout time must have been at idle with a registered 6 mpg after 16 miles, then I possessed it. After 150 miles it is over 30 under NORMAL engine operation, and mpg is still going up (3/4 country, 1/4 town after the 16 initial miles that the dealer or manufacturer clocked).
No hitches. As expected, it is roomy, drives like a medium SUV and easier on an older body than a big truck. Still getting used to it. The Wife loves it ("Silly boys...trucks are for girls" comes to mind.) Door closure is a little stiff compared to a Fusion. The Wife highly approves of the light in the bed and being able to get in and out easily. I already knew I would like it. Still learning the bells and whistles, so I cannot get too detailed.
Note: in our little church in Sanford NC there are 3 Mav owners; we each got one within a month of each other. The reports and comments above are consistent with the other two owners and their wives. Dealership experience varied quite a bit. Mine was subject of a complaint letter about the process but not the product. Ford CEO is right in my opinion when he has stated publicly that the old ways of doing things need to change.
Note 2: All of you know the FlexBed is really handy. I am going to make it sing because we have a lot of light but repeated work to do hauling and moving. It's going to work, and we don't have to struggle with too high a bed and I can haul most conventional lumber, 4x8 sheets, and lots of boxes.
Test plans: Will drive the first tank completely on Normal setting. The second on Eco. Recording and making notes along the way.
