Is this normal? Can't use display home screen when Apple Play connected

When I plug in my phone and am using Apple Play, I see no way to use the trucks Home Screen. I have to unplug the phone to get the menu back. Is this normal or am I missing something easy?

I don't have a Maverick, with CP or AA there should be an Icon for your vehicle, in this case a Ford icon. You have to click to all apps to see it.
Was that way on my Flex.

Should have a blue icon on the screen with all your apps of the ford logo. Touch that.

You can hit the audio button and get back that way. Circled in dark red.

You can look in the CarPlay apps - same way you’d bring up Spotify, Waze or Google Maps and there’s a Ford app. That’s your truck settings.
