No just projecting the upper raised pads back further over the bed.

I wish the protective pads part of it extended further back to protect the cab back when I fold my hard bed cover up and it lays on the back of the cab! :fingerscrossed:
My tonneau cover has built in pads that protect the cab back. I'm surprised yours doesn't have that feature.

I would just like a little more protection. Mine actually locks into 2 anchors attached to the cab roof and they advise to drive at a slow speed while up. I could see hitting a bump and the support arms popping off the anchors! Never tried driving with it straight up yet!

As someone who always tries to take good care of the things I buy I like the idea of adding some protection to that area. I know the Maverick is meant to do truck stuff which is part of why I bought it, but I still want to keep it looking good (and to me, doing truck stuff doesn't mean not worrying about scratches and dents). I'm not sure I'd pick this design, but that's always going to be a subjective choice and other people will probably think it looks great.

One thing that stands out to me is not having any protection over the light. I know adding more material that sticks out could make it more like a spoiler, but if I'm going to attach something meant to add protection to that area I'd want it to protect everything (at least to some extent).

Glued on anchors! Called the stance. By LOMAX, I see they are now available at a lot of truck equip dealers, but I bought from factory on sale for less. Very flat and dry.

And rods to hold it open which I use everytime after wind blew it down while sitting in my driveway. I flipped it up just to put some beach chairs in and in less than 2 minutes a gust of wind slammed it down. That is my fault for thinking the weight of it would prevent that.
Definitely not your fault. More like a bad design by the manufacturer.

No, totally my fault. I didn't connect at least 1 support and it was a windy day. If it had been parked 180 degrees around it wouldn't have blown. Now I always connect 1 rod while I am loading. Good thing was no damage, no fingers under it when it slammed. I haven't driven with it flipped up and doubt I ever would since it blocks the rear window completely.
Ok, then it was partially your bad call. Glad to hear no damage to truck or yourself. You are forgiven. Go in peace. ;)
