After driving my Maverick for 5 months & having its first oil change I wanted to take it to the dragstrip just to see what it would do. I've seen a number of members using a Draggy, but I don't have a camera for that to plug into. Stock setup I have seen high 14's from AWD models & was curious what my FWD would do, hoping to also break into the 14's. Well, it suprised me a bit my 2 best runs were 14.61 & 14.67 @ 93+mph- best 60 ft time was 2.18. I have not been to the strip in 16 years so it took a little getting used to staging & with a turbo now figuring out how much to brake boost. I'm sure with more practice 14.5 is doable. I tried to different modes, sport & tow haul, sport with TC turned off was the best & letting is cool off with the hood open for 20 minutes helped from my initial runs. At first I drove the 65 miles to the track & after signing in right to the starting line & went with a 14.82. On the street I get a good amount of wheelspin, but at the sticky track it really presses you into the seat. I won't be doing any tunes until warranty period is over. On my last & best run I wanted to find out if the intake was restrictive, I removed the plastic parts from above the radiator to the air filter box, which has a bigger opening than the 'snorkel'. It does pull harder with that piece off, I actually got a bit of wheelspin when the turbo kicked in even on the sticky track & with that it was still a few hundreds quicker, & was a 1/2 mph faster by the 1/8 & through the trap. I never let off until the rear of my vehicle is past the last cone of the trap & the last run was the only time it shifted up to 5th gear @ indicated 95 on the speedo. A few people approached me & were amazed it ran so good & 2 guys thought it was one of those new EV's cause it was so quiet & they had never heard of a Maverick.
