Thanks to another member here I now have a 2023 Maverick XLT Lux to drive around while I wait for my 2024 Lariat to be built. Now the hard part will be deciding which one to keep once it finally comes in. Curiously, the dealer had almost exactly the same truck on their lot and it was getting prepped for sale while we did the paperwork on mine. The salesman said they had it less than a day and it had a 5k markup. I paid a lot less. Thanks MTC!
Anyway, pros so far:
I love the engineering that went into the cargo area. They made it so you can haul 4x8 sheets of plywood flat, the true measure of a truck! Also the copious amount of tie downs.
Bottle openers on the tailgate... genius!
The little storage box on the side of the bed; perfect for your hitch.
Cabin - huge and comfy.
Stereo - the stock system sounds remarkably good and I dare say it's better than the "premium" JBL Audio I had in a RAV4 which cost me an extra $1500. Can't wait to hear how the Lariat sounds.
Quiet for this class of vehicle. Doesn't rattle much.
Hybrid drivetrain is seamless. I don't notice the ICE starting and stopping.
Cons:
Entertainment/info screen could be bigger, but acceptable for what amounts to an entry level vehicle. I got spoiled by the 9" screen on the RAV4.
Color selection. I don't hate Cactus Grey, but don't love either. I'm not in love with any of the options really. A design this innovative and radical deserves some bold color options. I wish I could get that deep green they offer on the Bronco. Now that looks sharp!
