I was told when I first purchased my Maverick that it would take approx a month for the 40k FordPass points to show up in my account

so the other day I decided to check my account and to my surprise it showed the initial 40k points and on the same day there's a bonus 20k points that says "Ford Maverick Bonus"

I don't know if this is Ford's way of making up for the delay? or it's for Hybrid purchases only?
but I now have 60k FordPass points lol

Note: I am in Canada and purchased a hybrid (don't know if this makes a difference or not)

Yes, Canada and Hybrid make all the difference!

Since hybrids were delayed at the beginning, a set group of people who ordered hybrids before a certain date (I'm not sure of the specifics) got something extra because of this delay.

Hybrid orderers in the US got a free "FITS" kit. Ford Canada gave extra points instead. Canadians came out better.....your points are worth more than the FITS kit that we got in the US. 20,000 points = $100CAN, right? When I got mine, I checked the pricing of the FITS kit, and the retail price was around $50US.

that makes sense - I never asked about the FITS kit when I picked mine up as I didn't really care for it so I agree the 20k points is much better

the funny part is the FITS kit is $117 + tax here so $130 CAD (ripoff)

Yikes!! When I checked in May, the US cost for the FITS kit for the dealer was like $35!

I just checked again now, current US MSRP is $85 (which corresponds to the $117 CAD w/current exchange rates). Dealer cost is a little under $60.
