Forgive if this has already been posted but today my screen was stuck in position even after turning the truck off and opening the door trick was attempted 3 times without any luck. I can't count how many times I have done that in the past (including at traffic lights; hey Ford think we could fix this anytime soon - annoying as hell!) and it usually works. Sadly not today. I've also noticed that occasionally the infotainment unit will reboot entirely on its own. After 40 miles it still had not done so. Luckily the temperature controls and backup camera would still display and overlay on the screen like they do.

Found a much better solution with a little googling at my stop ...

Simply hold the power button in and the front skip/fast forward button simultaneously for about 5 to 10 seconds. The system will reboot and may even go back to whatever you were listening to via your phone/Bluetooth.👍

Nice thing is this can be done while driving.

Sorry if y'all know this already or it's already been posted but it bears repeating.

Last thing, Ford could you task your engineers with a 3 day mini project to devote some time to making the infotainment a whole lot less buggy? Thanks from all of us frustrated users!

The reboot procedure has been posted many times on MTC.

If you're using a USB cable or wireless adapter, you might try using a different cable. OEM cables for your brand phone or a known good brand (ANKER on Amazon, etc.) are good choices. Also check the USB port on your phone and truck to make sure they don't have debris in them.

If using bluetooth for the connection, remove the USB connection from your phone and the truck. Restart both (prob. not necessary) and re-add the bluetooth connection.

If better cables don't help, take the truck to a dealer. It shouldn't be locking up like yours is doing. Mine has only locked up a time or two - the first time was on day 1 of ownership.
