And...
I just got an email that now my truck won't be delivered until April! I'd rather just drive to Illinois and get it! Why is it taking a MONTH to arrive from Illinois?! Ugh. That will be 7 months since I ordered. Getting worn out at this point. Maybe I should just get a Ranger off the lot.
I don't understand. Your Maverick is already enroute in Illinois and they're saying it won't arrive until April?? Any reason given?

Deb, I checked your truck's status again and it says it's at the interchange in Rosedale IL...just like mine was until two days ago. Next it should be put onto CSX rail to Indianapolis, where mine has been sitting for two days. I can't imagine why they'd delay it.

We double-checked, but didn't get an email from Ford tonight. Fingers, toes and heart crossed.

My Mav was shipped on Feb. 11. Arrived at Gateway Yard Ilinois on Feb. 19. I was told today by my salesperson, it has been moving around different rail yards in Illinois. When I try to trace on the CSX number, I cannot find any info of the train ar location. How have you been able to check your train status? Mine is coming to Virginia. Supposed to be loaded onto truck in New Castle, Delaware.

First, you will need to ask your dealership for a copy or screen shot of your Vehicle Visibility Report. Your rail code is on that report. It's up to 4 letters followed by 6 numbers. (Do you already have that?)

The instructions for how to use the rail code are at the top of this page under "TRACKERS".
But here's the pertinent part:

* * *

So, how do you track your truck on a railcar?

First and most important. Never talk to live personnel at the railroad! Only use automated phone system. If it attempts to transfer you to a live person please hang up. The railcar information we are provided by is given as a courtesy and if we call live personnel we may lose the access and ability to track.

CSX
1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352
2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location.
3. When prompted for the car initials, say CN (or whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt.
4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 (or whatever your number is)
5. When prompted for next car say DONE.
6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report.

It works pretty well, but you may need to try and try again to get the automation to hear your letters properly. I have not been able to get it to work by typing in the letters using my keypad. It takes the numbers by keypad perfectly fine, though...so you only need to enunciate the letters until it gets it right, then type the numbers when prompted. We get three tries each time before it starts to send us to a human ~ at which point please hang up and just redial for three more tries. I have actually gotten it to work on the first try, several times, but more often it can take 6 calls and 18 tries to get the automation to hear the letters correctly.

KEY NOTE: I find that I MUST get the automation to acknowledge all four of my letters TTGX. If it "gets" only the GX part, it will tell me that there is no status available. But when it has all four letters and the 6 numbers, it works great.

Should I pick it up? That’s about a half hour or so from my home.
The dealership HAS to receive it first, ensure it wasn't damaged in shipping, clean it, and prep it a bit. And you have to do the final paperwork. Ford won't let us pick up our pickup. Sad but true.

I saw that some others have had their delivery dates pushed back even after shipment and when I just called to see where my truck was with CSX I got the message of “we have no location updates at this time” when it previously gave me a “left Arizona” update. Is this normal? The recent posts have made me uneasy.

That seems very strange. When I have entered the code incorrectly, the message is "No Status Available." Did you say ALL of your letters before entering the numbers? I can't just say "GX", but have to say the whole "TTGX" before entering my numbers.

You might want to ask your dealer to see if there is any update on your Vehicle Visibility Report.

Our Maverick made it to Louisville, Kentucky at 9:53am today. I had hoped it would have been headed from Indianapolis, Indiana to Cleveland, Ohio enroute to Albany, New York area and on to Vermont. But I guess they had some trucks to deliver down there first.

@DebsMav Yours is still at Rosedale IL, but that makes sense. Mine sat there for a couple days.

@Buster If you'd like me to try the Tracker with your truck's code, send me a DM.

Thanks for this info but I have done all of this and am told the car number is located in Chicago and has been their since Jan,16. My vehicle was shipped on Feb. 11 so this info is totally outdated.

Yeah, I got only this information for your number:
"no wait information available."

That seems unusual. But I don't have a lot of experience with this. It makes no sense that it says it was in Chicago on January 16th if it didn't ship from Hermosillo until February 11th! Ask your dealership to check on it.

When the TRACKER works, what Estimated Delivery date does it give you?
https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking
Some folks whose tracking went all kaflooey were surprised that their truck still showed up on time. Some even showed their truck going all over the country, when actually what had happened was someone didn't scan it as it was off loaded and the tracking was still following the train. Maybe your original train engine is sitting still but your car is connected to a different one and chugging along somewhere?

It was incredibly odd but I called again to check and this time it said that it recently left Oklahoma! Happy to see its halfway here! Weird that it told me there were no updates before even after confirming all of the info was correct.

Hurrah!! I hope all that's going wrong here is the tracking is messed up, but that all the Mavericks are still chugging along towards home!!! 🚂

I hope it’ll be worth the wait! I’m sure the time waiting in suspense will have made it that much better.
