Family road trips in Maverick - comfortable?

My wife and I are 5'4 and don't expect our pre-teens to get much taller than that, so I think everyone will fit comfortably in this truck, which I absolutely plan to use for road trips since I ordered the hybrid Lariat. However, from what I've seen, I do wish there were a little more floor space for them to put their backpacks, etc. in the backseat area.

1800 miles on my hybrid XL and it does fine in the long haul category. Round trip from Las Angeles to Sacramento and coming from a 392 Challenger and a Nissan Titan 4x4 owner it's more in the truck world. Light back end will see the occasional bounce or shake. Cloth seat comfort is surprisingly nice and fatigue was minimal. Manual seat adjustment took some fine tuning. Noise was average. Just got it rhino lined today and that may make a minor difference in noise. Test drove an Escape hybrid for fun and sound proof and ride quality are better in the Escape but only by a small percentage. So would I load up the Mav with 2 adults and 2 kids and take off to Denver. Not if I had an Escape or any similar hybrid SUV in the driveway. Note: turn off automatic high beams. It will not show you high beams are on when it switches and you blind everyone a lot.

Those who have sat in a Mav, do you think a family of 4 could road trip in it? Or would that end up being claustrophobic? Could you find a position to nap in the back seat?
