Does wireless Android Auto act like it's connecting for the first time every time it reconnects, or is it my wireless adapter?

I've been wanting to ask about this for awhile and have spent time searching the forums but didn't see it talked about. I have a 2024 without wireless Android Auto and got an inexpensive adapter from Amazon a couple of months ago. The adapter works great and it usually reconnects pretty quickly, but every time it connects it's like it's the first time and I get all of the pop ups about paring successful, phone connected successfully, the message on my phone asking to give message access to the truck, and after about two or three minutes I get a final message on the infotainment screen saying "Contacts downloaded successfully".

I've never used wireless AA other than in my truck and with this adapter, so I have no idea if this is just how works or not. common or not. It's not the worst thing in the world but is a bit annoying, and I wonder if it's the tradeoff of having a less expensive adapter instead of a more expensive one.

Does it have the same behavior when you run it wired? If not, I would blame the wireless adapter.

I have a '22 and am using an adapter like you and don't have the same experience you are.

Thanks for the replies!

This doesn't happen with wired AA and it was definitely the wireless adapter causing this. I updated the firmware (which was a bit of a challenge) and the issue seems to have gone away. I've only been in my truck twice since updating it but I wasn't getting those messages anymore, just the initial one about my phone connecting via Bluetooth.

This is the adapter I have - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F43KKM9Y?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_2, it's a rebranded no-name import but not the cheapest available, which might be why there was actually a firmware update for it. Other than the issue I was having above it's been great, most of the time it reconnects quickly, has been very stable, and the sound quality is really good (at least with the stock speakers). Now with the issue being fixed I'm even happier with it.
