Dealership messing up orders

So a week after ordering an xlt and it being confirmed, I changed it to a lariat lux. The dealership said I won't get another email about change, but I got my production date email and it's all for the xlt and doesn't say anything about a lariat. Did the dealer screw this up and now I can't change it? If i redo the reserve process again am i going to be months out now from when i get a build date? Also my dealership told me that they reached out to change it and they were only giving production dates to xlts yesterday, but i saw a lot of people posting about their lariats getting dates, so did they just lie because they screwed something up?

If you have the resources, order the one you want and sell the one you changed for a profit. I would.

When you changed from the XLT did the dealership send you a new order page? I made a change and they made me look it over, and sign the document.

Sounds exactly like what I did. I did receive a new order form and the dealer did have me sign it. Supposedly I'm still good to go.

??? order not changed so they can push the vehicle to retail lot when you decline due to wrong trim.

yup, and i have the copy and he even reached out immediately after asking what my email from ford said because he saw it was saying the xlt. He claims they're able to change it and it wont push me back further in order dates even if he has to redo the whole order again, but i find that hard to believe

Not going to lie, the thought crossed my mind, but I could never prove that so i try not to think about it lol
