Aloha,
People are trying to plug up the left rear side opening behind the tire by adding some sheet metal but I've discovered that you can move your Cubby from the right side to the left side and put the dummy cover on the right rear as it has a factory cover blocking debris from F'ing up the tailgate plugs and by moving the right side cubby to the left side problem solved. Pictures attached as you can see the one with the lines is the factory right rear and the other is the cubby blocking S**it from mucking up the taillight plugs

This was what I planned to do (if I get my Mav).

Keep an eye on the cubby because one poster in another thread mentioned concern about heat buildup from the resonator on that side.

Some trim levels come with a cubby on the drivers side, so I doubt heat buildup is a concern. I am also not sure a drivers side cubby will prevent gunk from getting up there but I suppose it is worth a try.
