Confusing dealer information

Hello all! Stoked to say I I ordered an xlt fx4. But that’s about all I can say. I ordered in mid November and changed a few things once at the beginning of December. I received a call about a week ago that ford was putting in the build order. But I have yet to receive a confirmation email from ford. The only email I have gotten is for my original order and it’s literally just a picture of the truck with an order status bar at the top that says ordered. My dealer is a young kid and I have never bought a car new. It’s been very little information or contact about this situation. When I just asked him when I could expect the truck to be done he said June or July. Is this typical of y’all’s orders? Or did this kid mess up somewhere? He said any order made in quarter 4 the builds won’t start until the first quarter 2022. This has really been bugging me if he just messed up and didn’t get the order in or what? Clueless, any ideas!?

Sounds like it is fine. Did they take a copy of your drivers license and signed build sheet? I’m confused why they called you to tell you it was put in for build, can they give you a VIN? If not it isn’t scheduled yet.

You won’t get another email until they schedule yours for build. Scheduling starts back up on Jan 13th (for build dates in Feb/Mar). Since you ordered in November I would not expect to be scheduled then but you can hope! Good bet it will be here by June/July and if it comes sooner that’s gravy. EcoBoosts have been getting picked up pretty quick. So long as you don’t have a bunch of constraints, your dealer doesn’t have a ton of orders ahead of you, and provided they get some allotments.

It is safe to add 3-4 weeks from build date to pick up.

Based on current info here and other places earliest build date you can expect will be March but realistically probably April or May so June delivery is probably right. I ordered in October and my dealer said May delivery but I’m expecting June or possibly July delivery.
