Chrome Center Caps for Steelies

Hi Everyone: Does anyone know if there are chrome center caps available for the steel wheels? I am wanting to black out my steelies and put a chrome center cap on like an explorer police interceptor. I noticed that the Police Interceptor has a different bolt pattern. Is there an adapter out there that you can use to get those center caps to work?

I've had the stainless Interceptor caps in the past, sold them a while ago. Info on the specific ones, including a part number, is in my old for sale thread here.

Thanks for the info. Did you have them on your Maverick? Did they just snap on or did you have to modify anything?

I tried them on my steelies but decided not to go with them - went with different wheels.

They have tabs on the back which contact the lug nuts and that's how they're held on. The center caps do require that the tabs be bent slightly for the Mav but it's a simple thing and they do hold solid.

I picked up my set off of eBay - and like @Lane said all you need to do is slightly bend the mounting tabs and they'll fit with no issues. There are several folks' running these caps on this Forum.

Did you use the stock lug nuts ?

If I recall correctly, I believe the caps need to be mounted over stock lugnuts due to the way the clips on the back of the cap hold on to them. I'd be surprised if the caps would work over aftermarket lugnuts, unless the new lugnuts were the exact shape and size of the stockers.
