July 2021, heard about the Maverick, put a $100 deposit down, was told 6 months or so, and I was OK with that. Saw that the Maverick was already a hot seller, I put another $100 down on a second Maverick, a Hybrid XLT.

January 2022, Maverick #1 arrives, an AWD XL. Put a lift on, took it off, did a couple other mods. 2022 MY production ends, Maverick #2 does not get built in '22. I get rolled over and did the reorder in September. For chits & giggles, I had put another $100 down for an XL Hybrid with another dealer to see if both '23s get built, actually arrive, etc. After September 15/16th order time, I get the confirmation email from Ford regarding the order for Maverick #2. Nothing about Maverick #3, no emails nothing.

Jump to this year, Maverick #2 gets built and arrived the first week of May. Traded in Maverick #1 and I'm off and running in my new 2023 XLT Hybrid, Lux, CP360, SIBL, hitch, etc. Been driving the heck out of it; just got back from a CA to IA road trip. I am already at about 7K miles.

Then today.....an odd text comes in:

"Your Maverick has arrived"

WTH

Not one email, no 45 day "Dear John" emails, no "your Maverick has been scheduled" or "your Maverick has been shipped". Nope, its here! Totally caught off guard. I was not expecting Maverick #3 to be built this year, that it would be rolled to 2024.

Now I'm scrambling to clean-up my trade in and get it ready.

It's a weird but kind of cool situation to be in lol.;)

Roy, keep the XLT LUX 360! That is what I have in alto blue. My AWD turbo version is carb gray and it is now at my place in Park City to handle the snow. I have videos showing that even with this huge snow year up there, I never had to put chains on the stock Conti tires.

I am in HB and even in CA there are cold winter mornings and the heated LUX features really feel great. My seat gets so hot it's like heat therapy for my back.

Don't let the dealer keep #3 they will ADM +$10-$15k. You have first right to buy. Make the money which will reduce your overall cost of Maverick #2.

Or keep both and do some videos like I do, I will sub!
