I have had the topper on my '24 for a couple of years, and no regrets. I just installed the Sherpa Crow's Nest for ratcheting down a kayak. Both were through S-Cargo in Loveland CO. Sherpa is a local Colo company, and S-Cargo is awesome to work with.
Note that the topper has a fold-down front glass, which makes it nice to clean ALL the glass.
In the bed, I started with a sheet of thin underlayment ply and then just a 3x5 door mat, all at the big box about 20 miles away. I found a DeeZee poly gear box for ratchet straps etc, I had one of those gel mats that you put down in front of the kitchen sink, and used it for the tail gate, so nice on the knees when crawling in and out. I also added a USB and 12V in the bed, nice when I have the inflatable SUP and the accompanying 12V pump. An added feature of the 3x5 mat, it folds up just enough when the tail gait is closed to help seal out dust. The gel mat is not attached.
