It's usually $500 on any vehicle.
I understand - doubling $500 gets you to $1,000 🤣

and they put strings on it.

It’s lip service. If they cared about Veterans and first responders the offer would just be $1k all the time on every vehicle. Their profits can certainly absorb it.

I already did that. Apparently you have to be a veteran that was discharged within the last 24 months.
Yup, same result here.

When I bought my '22 Mav, I was out of the Military more than 2 years, so Veterans don't count to Ford past 2 years of discharge date.

I read the promotion details for this offer and the fine print appears to be the same.
Looks good for PR and marketing, but very limited offer in reality.

Make it permanent and make it for all vehicles without strings attached.

Lip service from Ford acting like they care.
If Ford doubled the bonus cash for military and law enforcement, I'd probably stay a Ford loyalist forever. When I bought my Mav I got $500 for being a veteran, $500 for being law enforcement, and $500 for switching from another major brand (Subaru). For a roughly $30,000 truck that only amounts to a 5% discount. If it was doubled for military and LE I would've seen $2500 off, which would be an 8.3% discount. The overlap of people who are military veterans, work in law enforcement, and drive trucks of any brand are huge. I think if Ford did that they would eat up a ton of sales that Toyota, Nissan, Chevrolet, and Ram get from that market I described above. Although I don't know if those brands have similar programs or not, but I imagine they'd likely make their own to compete.

So 1k off is lip service- talk about an ungrateful, I'm owed attitude.
I don't think it's about being ungrateful or feeling owed anything. I think it's more about being disappointed in the value of the discount, especially since they go out of their way to advertise it like it's some big deal. A $500 discount on a $30,000 Maverick only amounts to a 1.6% discount. For a $45,000 F-150, that’s a 1.1% discount. With numbers like that, it feels more like a PR move for marketing purposes rather than authentic support.

It's like going to the store and being told, “Hey, thanks for what you do—here’s a six-cent discount on that $4 carton of strawberries!” (a 1.6% discount) but then having to go through a long process to get that discount. With such a small amount, it feels more like a checklist item than genuine recognition. Most people would probably say thanks but no thanks.

Ford netted just shy of $6 billion in 2024. I don't think they'd be eaten out of house and home by raising that discount a bit. Heck, even if they said that for every veteran who qualifies for the $500 discount, they’ll make an additional $500 donation to the USO, Gary Sinise Foundation, Disabled American Veterans, or other charity organizations that help vets, I think that would make most veterans happy too.

well Ford is suffering from "CEOitis" like GM,I have a feeling that's going to change before too long, one other thing on the Mavericks would a front bench seat be too much to ask, most of my other small trucks had bench seats,on the Maverick everytime wifey or passenger sits something on the console a warning alert comes on or that stupid thing that slams the brakes on,could probably disable that like one of the salesman did for me on that annoying engine cutoff at rest, what I really like about the 22 model is the Ecoboost engine didn't have the dumbing down they did on the newer ones to bring the hybrid closer in performance( I think the 2 litre is the only Ecoboost with a chain drive on the oil pump)

I'd love to know what comes with a bench seat today.
With safety standards of today, what's your idea for a shoulder belt and air bag for that center section. Yea not hard at all. It would be massively popular.
