Seems like this is a common issue where CarPlay will freeze.
I have found the two button reset takes too long, so it's just easiest to unplug and plug back in.
I keep thinking it might have something to do with the cables. I have tried numerous kinds (and both types of USB) and it still disconnects and is dangerous to reconnect on the highway.
I picked up a loaner Ranger today from Ford while my maverick is getting worked on and I plugged in my oldest worn out cable and the Ranger never lost Carplay on the trip. Going to keep trying it over the next week and see if it has issues.
Really hope ford has a solution for this someday.
Unit then, has someone used a usb cable with a toggle switch on it, so when it freezes the switch can be toggled on/off with a button? I know it sounds ridiculous, just trying to deal with the issue until there is a solution.
