I have a 2023 XLT Cactus grey Hybrid that I ordered last September. The truck has the optional Luxury Package, and remote starting ( from Key Fob ), and Co pilot 360. MSRP is $28,980
I do NOT plan to purchase this truck for myself. I had also ordered a Lariat at the same time and it got rolled over as a 2024 model and already has a October build date so I am going to wait for it to come in.
The XLT has been built and has shipped. I expect it to arrive at the dealer anytime between now and the end of the month.
I can do nothing, and let the dealer have it and put into their inventory and at least in this area, they will likely add a 5 grand mark up on it and have no problem selling it.
Or I can purchase it, then resell it to someone else.
I live in South Carolina ( the dealer is in NC ) so my costs would be $28980, plus $799 DOC fee... $500 SC sales tax... and around $100-150 in title / tag fees. So my out the door cost would be, $30,429
I am willing to spend the time to take off work and meet you at the dealership, buy the truck from them then turn right around and sell it to you right there at the dealer so you get to drive it brand new off the lot, for $1200 above my cost. So that puts the truck at $31629 total cost. This is $2649 over sticker, but bear in mind if you found this same truck at a dealer at MSRP with no mark up, you would still have to pay a DOC fee so in reality this is less than 2 grand over sticker, and cheaper than a 2024 would be at sticker.
You will need to have your funds available at the time of purchase as I will want to be paid when I hand you the keys. And it will take a week or two for the Dealer and DMV to do their title work before I will be able to get you the title. I will work with you any reasonable way I can to make this work out for both of us.
I did ask my dealer if I could bring in someone that wants to buy it, and just have them do the original purchase in place of me and they insist that if I did that, they will add a $5000 ADM to the deal.
