Any issues in your journey to 20k miles?

I think positive feedbacks from hybrid owners who have not had suffer from any known issues is in dire need.

Would love to hear how you got up to that many miles and your overall experience!

Drive a lot for things I do, so about average. Usually I drive about 25,000 miles a year. So this was a slow year.

Honestly it's done remarkably well. There's been two glitches I've experienced and an oddity in shifting.

First, the glitches are with the infotainment screen. Sometimes starting the car (twice), the screen is black. And NOTHING starts it back on until you put it in reverse and the backup camera comes on. Then when you put it into Drive, the regular screen reappears. It did that twice in just a few days. But never again since.

The shifting thing is when you've just barely switched it from Electric to Hybrid and let off the throttle to get it back to Electric, the engine makes a weird lugging that feels a bit off. There's a slight vibration in the wheel like you're stalling the engine rather than the smooth cutoff. I can't force it to recreate the problem so I never took it in for service. Feels like the engine wants to stay running but the road speed/transmission gearing is going slower than the engine can operate at and not letting it free spin (I think when this happens the battery is almost entirely fully charged so is no longer spinning the charging motor). Again, it's done it maybe 3 times in a year and the immediate fix is to just let off the throttle and the engine dies and you're back on electric.

As for creature comforts, the vehicle performs very well. Averaged over 40mpg since day one. And that includes over 2,000 miles pulling a small trailer and various weights up to 2000 lb total including said trailer.

Seats, arm rests, etc all work well. The window sill is at the right height to be my arm rest. The only real oddity is that I've twice bumped the shifter dial with my leg and put it into neutral on the highway and had a momentary panic thinking the transmission went. Also, I had heavy keys and wallet in my shorts pocket in the summer and it fell off the side of the seat onto the driving mode button. Which caused it to cycle on the dash and I again thought something was horribly wrong with the truck only to realize my keys were pressing down on it.

Everything else has held up. No dings yet. No chips. Interior is all great. My weather floor mats from the factory do a great job keeping the floor decent.

Only real gripe is that the infotainment screen isn't bright enough when its really sunny outside. And that every time you open the door, it resets the "This Trip" mileage, even if the vehicle is still running and the keyfob stays inside.

Neither had I. I understood the concept though. Truck runs primarily on an electric motor for propulsion. It's assisted by the gas engine which also charges the battery. The 'braking' is through the transmission which charges the battery as well. Only emergency stopping and the final few feet of stopping is accomplished with the actual service brake. This means that coasting isn't as 'fluid' since any time the throttle isn't pressed, the vehicle will be engine braking to charge the battery. The vehicle also uses the engine brake like a jake brake when the battery is full to assist in stopping power. This may surprise you the first time it does it going downhill.

One good thing to learn with the hybrid is to use the EV Coach screen on your dash to see where in the process the output/input is. If you know there's an uphill coming up, but you're in electric, keep it in electric until you are going to be going uphill. You'll charge the battery then. Same with downhill. If you know a downhill is coming up, why start the engine to charge when in a few hundred feet you'll be going downhill and getting free energy?

You'll find yourself adjusting your driving to what's most advantageous for the MPG.

And despite that, this truck has a lot of pep. It's light, and the electric at the stop and the switch to gas gives this thing a lot of power for 0-40. You will be faster than any F-150 going full bore because 1) no shifting, 2) light weight with the electric motor gives you a great advantage after the first gear shift of another vehicle. But I've also gotten this truck up to 90 and had more pedal to spare.
