Review of a few modifications and discounts on genuine Ford parts: hood graphic, bed cover, weathertech mats

I wanted to do a few minor add ons to make it mine. Added a genuine Ford bed cover, hood graphic and all weather floor mats.

• * *Hood graphic direct from Ford, part# VNZ6Z-6320000-C. Easy install with patience. BUT- do not install dry. Thoroughly clean the hood and wipe down with grease and wax remover. Then spray the area water and a few drops of dish soap added in. This gives you the opportunity to center it and slowly work out the bubbles and creases. The hood is not flat and installing dry will be a disaster
• ** Ford bed cover, part # VNZ6Z-99501A42-B. Great quality, supports built into the cover and an nicely embossed Ford oval on the vinyl. Took about 20 minutes to install.
• ** Weathertech all weather floor mats. I bought these since I like the fact they are made in USA and have always been satisfied. But I recommend NOT to buy these. One of the dirtiest areas is by the gas pedal, these have no mat in that area. By the heel area there is a hump in the Maverick floor, the mat is flat and had to stretch the mat to clip on the right stud. They also had some extra material molded on for hanging in a display. Instructions say to cut it off, no matter how careful it looks like hell.

Question regarding the weather tech mats, still awaiting my hybrid xlt, but I noticed on the weather tech website, when I select hybrid, it says not available, eco boost only....the factory ford maverick mats I will probably cancel, for the fact there is no mat coverage under the gas petal....the only one that had available was husky from realtruck...those have coverage under gas petal. A COBRA now that's a wild piece of beautiful machinery. I have only seen 1 real cobra in my whole life the gentleman that owns it and showed it to me was the owner of Crown Ford in Southern California it was so very beautiful.

Any reason you chose all weather over the tray style? I have tray style in my 2.0 and couldn't be happier with them, complete coverage and if I get in with soaking wet feet (which is a lot because of where I live)they contain spills.

This is my daily commuter and doubt it will see mud and will be in storage during the winter so the regular ones are fine.

Love the Graphics on the Hood, but the WeatherTech mats are a disappointment...the most important part of the floor needing coverage is under the brake and gas peddles are a big disappointment. Have WeatherTech in all my other vehicles but WT missed this one.

I bought the “Viwik” brand floor mats off of EBay that are made for the Ford Escape but (from other threads on this site) are a near perfect fit for the Maverick -$59. Took 60 seconds to clip off one corner of the rear mat to get them to fit. Front fit perfectly and look like what the WeatherTech should have fit like. Mats have a 1/2 inch lip surrounding the edges to keep out dirt and water from the carpet.

I have the WeatherTech floor liners instead of mats and they are much better since they do cover under the gas pedal.

Gotta say, neither version of those weathertech mats look that great. I'm loving my Tuxmats, SO much coverage and the rubberized fabric look to them is so much better. Coverage is higher all around, including slotting up and around the seat glides.

Another issue with the all weather Weathertech is the rear floor mats are not yet available. Don’t know why they would make front mats and not the rear mats?

Really like the hood graphics…but same black graphics are at 1/2 that price for an EBay seller…in WarHawk North Carolina.$65 /free shipping.

I had the Weathertech floor mats from Autozone. In my ‘21 Corolla SE and was not happy with them. I ordered the custom made mats from them and they were much better. Did the same with my Maverick and they look great! The custom may be more expensive but in the long run worth every penny!

Hard to believe that Weathertech wouldn’t have better coverage than that. Thanks for showing us. Has anyone used the Husky Mats? If so please send us a picture.
