About every ~50 starts or so my camera never turns on. Rebooting the infotainment with holding power button and next track fixes it. Hopefully there's another OTA update to address.
Not a big one but I was in for the airbag recall and they also did:
"Vehicle emissions control label update" using part 5433 22L05 and put a new VECI label over the old one.
It's a plastic post that I think is attached to the windshield that goes through an opening in the sheet metal. There is one at each top corner of the windshield. Mine only rattled top right (sound made it seem like it was in the dash area from sitting in the drivers seat) but we did address...
So I finally got to the bottom of this. Thanks to the help of joeboxer22.
I think when most people are getting their windshield replaced, the techs are removing the alignment dowels that are used at the factory for the robots to align the windshield. When mine was replaced, those dowels were...
This is interesting, I need to go back to my dealer to see what the next step is. Do you mind sharing what dealership removed these installation pucks for you? Then maybe I can have my service manager talk to them.
My guess is when my dealer replaced my windshield these pucks are still present...
Dang I might have to try this.
To update on mine from a few pages ago. I got a new windshield this week. Click is WORSE. o_O It seems less temperature dependant. I was actually going to try to take apart the dash a bit today but maybe I'll try this first.
It's such a 'small' click that...
I would of gladly kept my original if there wasn't the black dot issue (I think it was just a mfg. defect when it was being laminated and something got in there). Luckily this was a loophole for me for them to replace it. With it being an intermittent rattle and definitely seems to be related to...
Nice! I've been working with my dealer on this as well. Originally they were trying to tell me it was my radar detector cable. Take that out, of course the sound is still present. Luckily my windshield has some black dot right in my line of view no one can explain. Finally got approved for a new...
Yup, Tire rack supplied Gorilla brand lugs if I recall correctly. 148 ft/lbf felt fine to me. Seems high but looking at a wheel spec website that had a bunch of Fords, pretty common on this chassis/platform for them.
Sorry that was a typo, I edited my earlier post. 235/65/17. Which is the same tire as at the AT tire option/wheels I have on the pic of the truck in my signature. The DM-V2 version of the Blizzak is the SUV/Light Truck version so they are pretty chunky, similar my stock Falken Wildpeaks...
Finally pulled trigger on a winter setup and went with Sparco Terras. Always liked the way bronze looks on Cactus as well. The Sparco stickers just came in the lugnut box and I won't be putting them on.
235/65/17 Blizzak DM-V2s (edit had wrong tire size typo before). Also if you call Tire rack...
So like a lot of you, been chasing down some annoying NVH issues. I get that it's a cheap truck and going to have a rattle here and there, which I'm OK with, but when it's a metallic or disconcerting noise other than cheap plastics rattling around, I can't take it.
So about 2 months ago at...
The interior plastic, at least on the Navy Pier is the least forgiving plastic in a vehicle I've seen since the early 2000s VW Soft Touch that would peel if you looked at it wrong. If you touch the Navy pier with anything but a microfiber towel, it scratches. I too put a little bit of vinyl...
I didn't try, I have it running from passenger A-pillar along headliner edge. I need to buy the same little black clip I use in my Golf R to hold up the wire when the V1 isn't in the mav but had one laying around from a house audio install. Not a lot of room to hold the cable on newer...
I couldn't get the lower part of the panel in question to sit flush trying to run it fully up the gasket or have some wire exposed. All in still only took about an hour, decided to take the pics at the end after searching for threads/vids of that panel.
I've used blendmounts in the past but not...
Not a video guy but couldn't find any good info on removing the side panel. Always hardwire My V1 in whatever cars I have. Most vids just say it pops off, which is all good but I'm pretty meticulous and don't want to introduce any rattles or have poor panel fitment after install. I've had VWs...
