My Mav came with the Pirelli AT tires (Ecoboost AWD/4k tow/FX4). They were ok, but I didn't like how noisy/rough they were. Most of my driving is on pavement or gravel roads. Sometimes on firm dirt/grass around the horse farm. So AT tires aren't a necessity for me.
I ended up with a nail in...
The gas door is easy to bump open and at the same height as my boobs. So each time I lean over the side rail to secure a load or pull something from the bed, I inadvertently open the gas door.
I didn't realize this was happening at first and kept wondering why my gas door was open!
😂👙
Sometimes, in my area, they will put up radar-triggered speed signs to encourage drivers to slow down (not ticket cameras, just a digital speed shown). There is now one on a road I use regularly, and it is always 2 mph lower than the digital speed display in the truck. This is on a 35 mph...
My mare is injured and on stall rest, so I need some square bales to feed (she's usually on pasture with round bales).
I picked up 15 bales from my hay guy, and drove ~30 miles to the horse farm. Bales weigh 50-60lbs each, so in the 750-900lb range for total load.
She handled it well! No extra...
I'm posting this as an FYI.
This happened a couple weeks ago, during our first warm weather spell here in SE Michigan. No signs of a crack after running errands on a Saturday, then a crack on Monday when I got in to go somewhere. I don't know if it was a contributing factor, but the weather was...
EDIT: it was NOT a scratch, yay! The broom left paint on the truck finish that I was able to remove with a rubber art eraser. Once I washed the truck I could see that the mark was raised, not indented in the finish. It took some elbow grease to remove, but came off cleanly.
I did this...
I've only had my XLT AWD / 4k tow / FX4 for a few days and today was my first chance to drive in the snow and use something other than Normal mode. I have just over 200 miles on the Mav.
I was driving a mix of snow-covered (2-3 inches) country roads, gravel and paved. Max speed 50mph. After a...
Just got it yesterday. Smaller than I expected, but feels roomy inside and the bed should work for the kinds of things I will use it for.
Quite a step down in size from the Silverado 2500 I recently sold. I'm not hauling horses anymore, so it was more than I needed, and had horrible mpg.
It's...
When I ordered my Maverick in October, the "bonus cash" offer screenshot below was available in the Detroit Metro Area.
I'm looking to sell my current pickup truck now, while the market is hot, but I don't want to part with it until I have a purchase agreement in hand for my Maverick. I went...
