You definitely need to remove the bottom shields and wheel liners to have it done right. They are very easy to remove and replace. It can not be coated right with them on.

I see you live in Texas. I have lived in Wisconsin for 69 years and believe me, if you are planning on keeping your vehicle more than five years, you better do something to protect it or it will cost you dearly. Once the rust starts there is nothing that stops it. You can only try to slow it down.

This was mainly about the shields under the body ( not the shield under the engine ). I have decided to rust proof and reinstall bottom liner shields for warranty purpose. Will be checking in the winter to see what happens.

I was not talking about the one under the engine.
