  1. Maverick may become sub-brand with additional vehicles says CEO Jim Farley

I think the only shot Ranger has at survival is focus on off road performance/towing for its class. it’s so much easier/cheaper to go after mpg with unibody.
  2. Maverick may become sub-brand with additional vehicles says CEO Jim Farley

I like F100. Maybe I’m just old. LOL I think there is an easy way to not dip into ranger/f150 sales. Keep the power down, fuel economy up, limit the off road capabilities/towing. maybe 1 hybrid powertrain that can tow 5000 and gets 32ish mpg.
  3. Maverick may become sub-brand with additional vehicles says CEO Jim Farley

I think the maverick is just the beginning. I believe Ford will bring out at least 2 more trucks loosely based on Mavericks success- 1. 2 seater sized like the ecosport. 2. A unibody placed between ranger and f150. The “explorer” of trucks. F100 would be a fantastic name plate
  4. New Sticker. Appropriate?

I almost started a thread titled “best top gun quote for license plate” I think you have #1. A close second would be “I’ll hit the brakes, he’ll fly right by”
  5. The two ugliest colors ford has ever come up with.

After searching through the 1423 grey, light grey, and black SUV’s today at the mall to find my escape, I’m gonna order cyber orange!
  6. All-New 2023 Ford Ranger Revealed!

The manual isn’t gonna happen. Highly doubt the diesel will. Simply no need for it. The price tag will probably knock me out. I’d be interested in all electric if the range was decent.
  7. Old Vs New

that awesome. I have a black ranger with 303,000 miles on it. Thought I wanted a black maverick, but I seen cactus grey and fell in love with it. They red is sweet.
  8. Fun Size Son vs. Full Size Dad

I have a 2 seater ranger. 303,000 miles on original clutch, transmission, and motor. but the 2 seat doesnt work with family. And of course everything non mechanical is falling apart. :giggle: The maverick will be so much more comfort with more capacity. I just hope its half as reliable as...
  9. Fun Size Son vs. Full Size Dad

I’m gonna guess you could buy 2 Mavericks for the price of his?🤣 my other brother just got the new 7.3 gas super duty. That thing is like a 8000 lbs sports car.
  10. Fun Size Son vs. Full Size Dad

Here’s a pic next to old ranger.
  11. What do you like LEAST about the Maverick?

I know. Guy can dream. In a vacuum, they would be making a killing at 1000$. But nothing can be singled out like that.
  12. What do you like LEAST about the Maverick?

I only want cruise on xl. I wouldnt care if they charged 1000$ for it. I’d still pay it.
  13. Fun Size Son vs. Full Size Dad

All vehicles have their purpose. My brother needs a 250 for business and I haven’t hauled more than 50 lbs in 2 weeks. The maverick takes care of a ton of needs. I always thought the people driving around in an 8000 lbs truck not hauling a thing are incredibly inefficient. I like my brothers...
  14. To Any Manufacturer Considering Competing with Mav...

Fellas if there was any kind of demand for a manual, they would make it. Fact is there isn’t. This is proven by the fact no manuals exist anymore. Gone with corded phones, tape players, and corded drills.
  15. To Any Manufacturer Considering Competing with Mav...

Well here’s the biggest problem(s). Fuel mileage would have to be tested and it’s going to come out worse. The credit they would give would be 500 or probably nothing. They also lose 100% of woman sales. They target audience is less than 1% that would actually buy it. I might consider a manual...
  16. Maverick just the beginning?

I think the maverick will kill the ranger. I honestly think the biggest mistake Ford made was not doing this earlier and give it the ranger nameplate. With the loyal ranger following and the updated modern usefulness of the maverick it would be killing it in sales.
  17. To Any Manufacturer Considering Competing with Mav...

I have a 5 speed ranger. I really like it. But from a functional standpoint, there is zero reason to bring out a manual.
  18. Maverick just the beginning?

I don’t think it would necessarily have to be a lot cheaper than maverick. I think there would be just as much demand for it as there is for eco sport. To me the eco sport overlaps too much with escape.
  19. Maverick just the beginning?

Since Ford doesn’t do cars anymore, and maverick seems to be a potential home run, where else can Ford go with trucks? My first thought is a f100. An extremely functional first unibody in between the ranger and 150. Focus on the 90% of what people use a truck for. Second thought was a 2 seat...
  20. Hoosiers Roll Call

Southern IN here. Plan on ordering a hybrid xlt in cactus grey next year. Not in a hurry. really wish xl came with cruise. That’s what I’d get.
