I had a 3D stick-on plastic badge on the tailgate. A couple of minutes with careful use of a hair dryer and it came right off. Didn't even need to use the dental floss I had available. Now, it may have come off this easily because I took it off within a day of taking possession of the truck. I...
Yeah, no issues at all here after a couple of months, although the truck has been driven only about 1,500 miles (it will pick up, so to speak, next year when/if my wife has to use it as a commuter vehicle).
I remember watching a YouTube video where they said the Mav was a car-like truck and the Santa Cruz was a truck-like car. I thought that was a very apt description (and I like them both; I just like the Maverick more).
We were looking at a Mazda CX-30, a Hyundai Kona and a Subaru Crosstrek. Needed an AWD vehicle that could get my wife to/from work No Matter What that didn't cost a fortune and could handle the occasional Home Depot excursion. Then we looked at a Hyundai Santa Cruz and it had its positives, but...
The used car market is out of control. The dealer offered us $500 for a 2002 Ranger in need of some front-end work; he obviously didn't want it so we donated it instead. It sold at wholesale auction for $4,800! My head almost exploded; I thought it might get two grand.
It's entirely possible the dealer will farm it out to LineX or Rhino, etc. I got an aftermarket SIBL through the dealer when I bought a Maverick off the lot and they marched it over to LineX, who did a really good job.
Was looking at Mavs on Autotrader today as a way to make me feel better about paying MSRP for mine. I think this dealer might win for Most Amazing Ask at $10K over list (more than 27% above MSRP): https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=619876377
Just to make things even foggier, I'd point out that the 2WD Maverick is front-wheel drive, unlike the typical 2WD pickup truck. This should mean better snow traction than old-school pickups because the weight of the vehicle is over the drive wheels. We bought an Ecoboost AWD because my wife...
Yeah -- We bought a Maverick off the lot, then ordered a spray-on liner, the cover and even a back-up sensor as aftermarket accessories. Dealer sent the truck to a Line-X franchise for the bed liner, then ordered the cover and the sensor parts and put them in when they arrived.
Bought ours off the lot from Malloy in Alexandria...it was their first Maverick sale. They tried to push it at us for $3K over list but they came back down to MSRP without much negotiating (a good thing because it made me nearly choke to even pay MSRP and I wasn't going higher). Still, once you...
I'm glad these both exist. I think the Mav is a superior value in most trims and the gas mileage difference matters, but the Hyundai is just so funky (and I mean that in a good way). And the Hyundai warranty is really superior. And I love that -- let's be honest -- cooler they've built into the...
Our factory fold-up tonneau took only a week to get to the dealer, and it's been installed now. It looks great. The dealer waved us off of the roll-up, saying they were hard to come by (I wanted the fold-up anyway).
A tow truck driver came to the house to haul away the 20-year-old Ranger we donated to charity and he absolutely loved the Mav. He assumed it was a modern Ranger; he'd never heard of the Maverick at all (a lot of people haven't yet).
All of the ones they had listed online were marked up by $3,500. I might have done business with them if that had not been my first experience with them. OTOH, the dealer I *DID* buy from, who was closer to me, tried to mark the Mav up the same way without putting it on the sticker...it...
