I mentioned earlier I found pre-cut guards for the door so I figured I would put the link in case anyone is interested: https://a.co/d/8ts7pUv Also the silicone guards for the seatbelts look like they would help to prevent scratches on the pilllars between the front and rear doors, the are...
  2. DIY interior scratch proofing using self adhesive fabric

Update: I have had a few areas peel a bit. I was able to secure them back by rubbing them down but I’m sure it will happen again. I think my plan will be to cut more (I had plenty left over in the roll of 6’), use a plastic primer as suggested before, and also add spray adhesive. I believe once...
  3. DIY interior scratch proofing using self adhesive fabric

Thanks. All in it only took a little over an hour. Most of the time was spent making templates out of butcher paper….. the areas where the seat belts hit are tricky as they angle up toward the back with a small flat so I had to redo the template a couple of times.
  9. DIY interior scratch proofing using self adhesive fabric

I do want to warn everyone….clean the areas really well before sticking. The first section I did I don’t clean it and it started to peel the next day. The areas I cleaned really well worked out much better. They had a minimal peeling and I was able to rub them down
  10. DIY interior scratch proofing using self adhesive fabric

I agree, definitely not a show truck. My thought is if I can do something cheap and avoid scratches why not…..and it gave me something to do on a Saturday waiting for the game to come on.
  11. DIY interior scratch proofing using self adhesive fabric

So it was actually attacked by a wild cat. Thats funny, orange cats are hilarious it matches my dash mat as well that I got from dash designs. It is “formed” as best as possible. It’s fabric so unlike vinyl I was able to heat it and stretch it. The seatbelt area isn’t perfect because it has...
  12. DIY interior scratch proofing using self adhesive fabric

Is that a common spot as well? Does it happen from passenger feet?
  13. DIY interior scratch proofing using self adhesive fabric

It’s self adhesive fabric. If it gets damaged or starts to peel, a little bit of goo gone and it’s like it was never there.
  14. DIY interior scratch proofing using self adhesive fabric

Not perfect but should help with some of the trouble spots. Cheap self adhesive fabric on amazon.
