It's gotta be a Ford and fuel economy is important. I already have a f150 ecoboost and want to make sure that fuel economy is at least 5 mpg better than it..
Looking for any comparisons between an Escape and Maverick.
I am interested in fuel economy, road noise and stability in high winds.
I see the Escape has 5 stars safety rating, what about the Maverick?
Thanks
Thanks
The trip is 660 miles from Texas, to NM then CO. Usually takes me about 10:30 driving time. We usually drive the speed limit and/or up to 5 over. Which means quite a bit at 80-85. Slower going through part of Texas and have to slow down for every small town.
My 17 F150 ecoboost 3.5 gets...
If I drive 10000 mile a year and assume half city, half hwy then the
hybrid at 37 mpg average takes 270 gals and at $5 gallon costs me $1350 year
The 2.0 FWD with 26 mpg average takes 385 gals for a cost of $1925.
Hybrid saves me $575 year. If gas goes back to $2.50 then maybe save $275 year...
I have read and saw several comments about the uncomfortable seats. Are the seats in the Lariat better (more comfortable) than the XLT? We take long trips and average 10-11 hours so the seat needs to be comfortable
When we go to our vacation home 650 miles away we drive at 80-85. That gets us there quite a bit quicker than running at 70mph.
So if you have done any driving at those speeds, what is your mpg?
Also list your engine and if the 2.0 AWD or not.
If I get a 2L AWD with the tow package I can use Forscan and add the driving modes AND hill descent?
I see no reason to pay for the FX4 package if all I get over the tow package is front hooks, cheap skidplates and extra driving modes and hill descent. If I can add those I can add real UHMW...
The ecoboost doesn't need premium but if it's hot and or you are towing it's to your advantage to use it. Yes you get a little bump in power of approx 10 HP and 10 lb ft. Here in Texas I run premium during the summer and the cheap stuff the rest of the year
