Specifically the seats and the lumbar hump.
I actually got a mustang recently.( still
Have the gti) and it’s definitely a ford seat design. Thankfully, it’s not nearly as bad as the maverick was. Just sore after a 3 hour drive.
I was willing to go for the mustang since the seats are easy to...
I've had quite a few cars in the last few years. The only one that ever caused me back pain was the Maverick. My Jetta, fine, my GLI, fine, my 2004 titan with 200k miles, fine. Ive driven several 20+ year old cars for several hours in the last year no issue. Same day i could drive the maverick...
I found an expensive solution to my seat problem. After taking my Fiance to the doctor in the maverick (15 minute drive) my back acted up again. Im 31, so really not expected. I broke down and traded the maverick in, and no more lingering back pain. Its a shame, i really enjoyed the truck.
I have unfortunately tried both the tapered cushion and the odd gel cushion.
I drove the car for the first time since monday, tried setting the seat higher as suggested, no dice.
Reach out to IE, they "didnt" have a tune for my car until i pestered them a bit and they realized they did in fact have one. Much better throttle response than APR, and more responsive support than 034, just my .02.
I have a tuned 2023 GLI and id say the same. The easy torque and auto means its easier to dart through traffic. Once I get into boost on the GLI though, its no comparison. Especially passing on the highway.
That is how I have been using it. I tried sitting higher on a flatter seat didnt seem to help, but then I can try it again. I think the core isssue is that the lumbar support is in the wrong spot for me.
I could see that helping quite a lot. I typically sit in what one of my friends likes to call "Birthing position" where I angle the whole seat back. Its how I drive my Jetta.
Its something I am actively working on. The core issue for me though is that I havent had this problem in any other car ive owned. (and ive owned over 20 at this point) Something in the seat geometry or design is just not good for my back. I am sure the additional back exercise and core...
Thanks for the reply! Interestingly, ive found that the passenger seat is more comfortable for me than the driver. my lower back hurts first, then if i move into a position that works for my lower back the upper back and shoulders complain.
Hi all,
I purchased my maverick earlier this month. Its a 25 ecoboost XLT with the luxury package. It has the cloth power driver seat. The truck is great, except the seats dont work for me. I know many folks find the seats just fine, but after about 30 minutes they make my back hurt, after an...
