Got any more info on this company? Graduating with a mechanical engineering degree this December, with the ultimate goal of working in the auto industry. A Ford supplier would be a sweet gig
What are the odds we see the manual trans in America? If we get it, even in the base model XL only, that's a HUGE pull away from the Maverick or another small car for me.
I mean really, who'da thunk that if Ford came out with a reasonably sized pickup that the average person can actually afford, then offered a 42MPG hybrid as the base model for under $20K, that said pickup would be insanely popular?
Truly perplexing.
First car: 2013 Focus SE, 5-speed manual. Lifetime average was 31MPG
Current car: 2018 Hyundai Sonata SEL, current average is between 25-27 depending on my driving habits.
With an EPA average of 25 in the AWD Ecoboost, I'm not concerned that I'll regret the AWD and extra power, considering my...
Hard to imagine that they wouldn't eventually do an AWD Hybrid. People love AWD whether they need it or not, and to many people it just feels "wrong" to have a truck that doesn't power all four wheels.
AWD hybrid would be a sick, sick daily here in the Tri-State. Its not often we get snow thats...
Seems you do better than the EPA would suggest, then. All I meant was the 1.5 seems insufficient for moving around a 3600lb SUV that's shaped like a box. Fuelly.com shows most folks get about 24 combined for a 1.5 BS and about 23 for a 2.0. My original point was that, for an engine with only...
I'm still not fully sure I want to go with a truck/SUV, because I drive on-road 99% of the time and I much prefer the road manners of smaller cars, so right now I'm still considering things like the WRX, GTI and the Civic SI, but I'm starting to mull over the idea of a truck/SUV as my next...
What do you think the trailer will weigh when it's all done? Obviously a DIY trailer isn't gonna be as precise as a factory-built one (maybe wouldn't test the stability at 80mph) but this could be a great workaround to the Mav's towing capability. If the trailer is lightweight, but still...
100% would have gone manual if it were offered. First car was manual, but I recently totaled it and needed a car fast, so I jumped into the first good deal I found which was a Hyundai Sonata, 6-spd auto. It's fine, but it's in no way exciting. I don't plan on doing any heavy towing or...
Some of the gaudiest accessories I've ever seen.
Fake hood scoops are already bad enough on mustangs and challengers but on a 4cyl entry-level pickup?? Come on.
Tailgate spoiler. What the hell is that? Skip
Rear applique: Not awful actually, but not really necessary
Bed rack: Maybe I'm not...
Sold. I was thinking about the Hybrid but 26 combined is enough. I basically got that in my old Focus and only a hair better (27) in my new Sonata, both with significantly less power.
Still loving the Cyber Orange. Really hope it sticks around a few years and isn't cancelled for lack of sales.
The fuel economy is SICK for the EcoBoost. If the 22/29 figure is to be believed for the AWD model, I bet the FWD one will crest 30 highway. FWD with 4K tow might be the way to go for me!
Would seem that the Mav is pretty much the spiritual successor to the old ranger, then. Sure, this time around we lose the BOF construction and RWD layout, but we get a lot more power, better fuel economy, more refinement and the peace of mind that you won't be crushed like a grape in an accident.
I bet she does ;)
Thanks for leaving your thoughts on the SC. I personally think it's gonna be a massive flop for Hyundai, for the reasons you listed: more attention was paid to features and goodies than making a practical, capable truck.
Hot pepper is also nice! I would put it at 3rd behind Cyber Orange and Velocity Blue for me. Fortunately, Velocity is a popular enough color that even if they nix Cyber Orange in a few model years, they'll still make that awesome blue
You underestimate my resolve, then. After having a dull grey and dull silver car back-to-back, I'm completely over it. I never want a boring color or non-color again
