I am looking for a simple tail gate open warning switch and dash light.
I had one on my old Tacoma. Very simple. A mercury switch in the tail gate wired directly to the warning light near my dash.
can’t find anything like it now.
I think it is just the mode I was driving in. Normal. While in that zone of 40 mph and 1,000 to 1,500 rpm then switching to sport mode there is no rumble. Starting out and leaving it in sport mode also no problem. It’s the computer looking to give better mileage in normal mode. But full time...
Wet roads mode. I would think that means less or no power to the rear wheels. I know only having rear wheel drive can be tough on slippery roads when making a turn.
It’s not that kind of rattle or rumble. Someone suggested driving in sport mode. That seems to do it. Not sure if I want to keep in that mode but no rumble. And that fits with my experience with standard shift cars. I also like how sport mode turns off the ”gas savings engine stop at all stops“...
That’s my gut feeling. I’ve been through enough cars to know what an auto tran should sound and feel like.
I’m already thinking maybe I should trade it in with its 7,000 miles.
Go back to a Tacoma. Mine had 250,000 miles.
yes? No?
My Maverick is misidentified here. It is a 2024 gas only. Not a hybrid. I have a rumble when I am at 1,000 to 1,500 RPM and going 40 MPH. Not accelerating. just cruising.
dealer says it is normal. It is the turbocharger.
I am not convinced. This reminds me of my standard shift car when I was...
I have a 2025. less than 7,000 miles. Gas only. When at 1,000 to 1500 rpm’s and cruising at almost 40 mph I get a noticeable shake and rumble in the steering wheel and seat. I can hear it and feel it. Have to be cruising and just touching the gas. Not accelerating.
starting to hear and feel it...
I could but I don’t want to buy a cover again.
I’m going to get one of those foam pipe covers you would use to insulate pipes in cold places In your home. They are sliced the long way. I’ll try that at the end of the roll up where it meets the tailgate. Obviously just for the car wash. And...
I still have my 2012 Toyota Tacoma with 257,000 miles with a roll up bed cover I installed myself. It never leaked like the one Ford put on. I expect a few drops to get in but nothing like what the Maverick allows.
It’s the design and/or installation by Ford.
