From what I understand, there is no "thermostat" on the engine to warm up the water etc.. like on a normal engine ** maybe a myth?

Too me it feels like the maverick is much quicker from a stop to 40miles.
Of Coarse Ridgeline has more room and maybe a little smoother etc, but the maverick hybrid feels quicker.
Chicago weather here! if it wasn't for the heated seats, I probably would have frozen. Even at highway speeds, heater is just not "HOT" copared to my old trusty 4cyl ranger.
