  1. Dashcam hardwire: Options to tap 12V power in sensor cluster above rear view mirror?

This is awesome, that seems like a great way to go, I certainly wouldn't mind replacing the mirror with an auto-dimming one as well.
  2. Dashcam hardwire: Options to tap 12V power in sensor cluster above rear view mirror?

Bottom line up front, looking if anyone is familiar with the electrical connections in the sensor cluster above the rear view mirror. I'm looking at finally hardwiring my dashcam. I know there are kits to tap the fusebox ( https://a.co/d/0aM64bqf ) and OBDII port options, but I think they're...
  3. DIY - build shield to cover underbody cavity behind left rear tire

Hardware included would be convenient. If you need anyone else to test, I live in the Philly burbs.
  4. DIY - build shield to cover underbody cavity behind left rear tire

I'm definitely interested. The snow and salt has been sub-optimal in PA this year.
  5. DIY - build shield to cover underbody cavity behind left rear tire

You could always just use some aluminum thermal tape if you're worried about proximity to the exhaust. It's cheap and already in use on many vehicles.
  6. Prevent your Maverick from being stolen

If you don't want it stolen, just install a hidden kill switch. Remains the best tried-and-true method.

I had this problem on another car after having the head unit replaced, and it turned out they never bothered to plug the GPS antenna wire back into the new one. May be a loose/disconnected wire. Might have downstream consequences for a vehicle with such integrated electronics.
  8. T-Bone accident at red light. Can it be fixed if so how much?

You don't want to keep a unibody car that's been in an accident like that. 1) get any security camera footage at that intersection 2) Give it to the cops/insurance 3) Take your insurance payout 4) get on a dealer waiting list for canceled orders. It's the easiest way to get a new maverick since...
  9. Lastfit LED's burning out

For the record, LASFIT includes resistors in the bulb. That's going to generate a ton of extra heat, and heat kills LEDs. Especially cheap LEDs. Almost every other solution (superbrightleds.com, diode dynamics, etc...) has you install resistors separately. Buying aftermarket tail lamps with...
  10. Weird things I learned about the recirculating air feature

A really annoying thing the car also does is automatically change blower speed based on outside temperature, even with the blower manually turned all the way up. So if you're smoking/vaping in your car and want the smoke to go straight out the window in winter and your car isn't warmed up, the...
