  1. Can’t go any longer. 20’ wood

This past weekend I dared to transport a 2x6 20’ long for a few miles in a city/ urban driving condition. I placed it on top of a 10’ long piece. Can’t say I would do that on highway speeds but you do what you gotta do sometimes. In other occasions I moved a few 16’ , that is still a stretch...
  2. Very loud engine at startup at cold temperature

Outside temperature 19 Fahrenheit. As you hear in the video the car sounded very loud as something was not right. What can that be?the rpm were low. After engaging the reverse gear, the vehicle got quiet and I had no problem driving afterwards.
  3. Confused: these wheels show a PCD 108 but also have a marking 5x100?

The wheels are aftermarket that the owner was using on a ford edge 2016. To my understanding they are compatible with the requirements for the maverick wheels. What is that 5x100 marking shown in the picture below? The 5x100 is near the weight rating if it helps. I read PCD 108 too, that is...
  4. Did anyone load a snowblower on the bed? Or on a carrier

what would you reccomand? The bed maybe is too short i would be afraid of hitting the cab loading it. A carrier like the one shown here from HF may be easier but is not particularly solid.
  5. When too cold I can not open my Tonneau. Revolver X4S

It was quite cold these past few days. Rain was followed by a sudden drop in temperature. I was surprised to discover that my rigid rollup tonneau could not open. I did not push too much, afraid I would break it. If not disappointed I am surprised that it did not work as I bought a tonneau also...
  6. Will 235 65 R18 work for the maverick?

This is for a set of aftermarket winter tires + wheels coming off a Ford Edge. The rim is slightly bigger at 18x8 j instead of the 18x7J I have on my XLT. I do not particularly like the wheels and those used tires may have lost much of the traction after 3-4 years but at the end is for a few months.
  7. Is there any aggressive looking winter tire out there?

For what I have seen the answer is no (not much). What I am looking for is a proper Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) tire that would look at bit nicer than the (boring) ones available in 225/65R17 235/65R17. I may even find other rims if there was something out there decent. The all...
  8. Putco Ultimate T-SLot rack system - anyone installed yet?

Anymore has installed the putco T-Slot rack system? I like its profile. It is not too bulky as the yakima and elevated rack. I read that it is "designed to work with tonneau covers equipped with a T-slot: UltraGroove & Retrax XR Channel Rails, but works with any T-slot tonneau covers" .
  9. Transporting large storage bag directly over rigid Tonneau

I am deciding between the rolling and 3 fold versions of the hardcover BAK Tonneau. They are "Rated up to 400 lbs. of evenly distributed weight" and can be bought with the railing as in this image. So for the rare occasion I need to carry more stuff I wonder if I could safely carry one of those...
  10. Can Elevated Rack be connected with Yakima system/accessories?

The Yakima system I have uses tubular sections. Is there a way to connect the Elevate rack in some way to those circular rods? I am really interested to buy the elevate rack+ Tonneau cover but if I do not want to rebuild all my kayak setup again. Or maybe there is an other solution with teh...
  11. New Jersey deleted

    o.k.
  12. Some dealers just don't want the Maverick

I have to share this. After 440 days waiting my 2nd (identical) Maverick arrived and I checked the price for my older 3K mile "basic" XLT Hybrid Lux 360 with rear sliding window area 51 and.......$17,951! are you kidding me? I am almost tempted to accept it, to just look in the eyes (or receive...
  13. Seat belt reminders lower your insurance… and save lives.

https://www.iihs.org/news/detail/many-suvs-struggle-in-first-iihs-seat-belt-reminder-evaluations “ A new ratings program from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety aims to push manufacturers to improve their seat belt reminders in order to save as many as 1,500 lives a year.” This...
  14. 225/75/R17 anyone?

I am thinking of that size as a winter tire on the stock wheel. I like the look and the increased clearance. There is a 1.8” increase in diameter. I have not seen a single installation in the forum. They are not widely available and would cost a bit more. Update: in my opinion it will NOT...
  15. Maverick is my first pickup and I am using it.

Great Vehicle. Thank you Ford! +++++ Now I have 2000 miles on it and these are just some of the opportunities I had in using the bed. It is so easy to load things in it from the sides that the other day I had to stop myself from placing there some takeout food I picked up. Fuel economy: mid...
  16. OLD XLT LUX rolling as 2023 will lose the Spray in bedliner?

the MAV 2023 build configurator is not out yet but as of today the lux package shows the drop in bedliner included. My july order had spray in instead. Today the the spray in is an option but requires the removal of the Luxury package. If the build configurator for 2023 stays the same, I will...
  17. xlt audio: why radio quality is so much better than usb/ bluetooth?

+++++++++Update++++++++ play any of these modern high quality tracks yo really assess the quality of the audio out of your maverick https://audiophilemusic.io/portfolio/top-10-samplers-for-test-high-end-system/ What a difference!!! so before upgrading speakers I should select a better streaming...
  18. Cargo net recommendation anyone?

The first pickup for me (XLT LUX); it has no tonneau. Does anyone have recommendations on what to look for in a cargo net? The Maverick bed is 58" long; They stretch quite a bit so maybe the 4'x6' size is too big and I should get instead a 3'x4' version? they are not expensive; at Harbour...
  19. 10 months wait! xlt lux 360 hybrid finally home

The car starts ;) The most important thing is that the dealer honored the MSRP price agreed on the phone in July 2021 and also the price protection. There was nothing more disappointing than reading the horror stories of fellow MTC members being robbed after all the waiting. I did not think I...
  20. Still shows in production after 2 weeks, is it normal?

XLT Lux 360 I thought being scheduled for production was finally the end of unpredictable delay but it’s not the case. Still delays and postponements. My initials in production day was April 8th then 15th then April 20th. Come on ford, are you going to turn out of air to fill the tires next?
