I am now approaching my second oil change (third, really, since I did one at ~2000 miles), and with 15,000 miles on it, I'm concerned about it using oil.
Modern engines just don't use oil and this one is: do these engines, which use an aluminum block, have steel liners, or are they a nikasil...
Recently I took mine on a 1500 mile trip on the highway, averaging around 75 mph on the highway, and it returned 33 mpg, just as Ford promised. Given that it gets a lifetime average of just around 40 miles per gallon, I have no complaints!
