  1. Quirky shifting?

Yes, tire pressure is fine. The issue felt exactly like when you're slowing down in a standard transmission vehicle, and you forgot to downshift. It really doesn't do it anymore. We'll see if the upcoming cold weather plays a part. Thanks
  2. Quirky shifting?

Sorry for the late reply. I either got used to the problem or it is not as pronounced now. I feel like it actually improved after a couple weeks of driving. It doesn't bother me at all anymore.
  3. Maine Looking for steelies

I got a quote from my dealer for steel rims... $568 each. I hope they don't plan on selling many. There are a few people on Marketplace trying to sell rims for a very low price, but they don't want the hassle of shipping. What a bummer. The search continues...
  4. Maine Looking for steelies

I'm looking for a set of 4 rims that I can use for snow tires. They don't have to be perfect, and I don't need tires, but for the right price I would take the tires, too. I'm in southern Maine. Does anybody somewhat close by have rims for sale? Thanks
  5. Question about drop-in bed liner -- will flex bed slots for 2x4 and 2x6 boards still be usable?

I bought the drop-in liner. It fits very tight and looks good. The slots for 2x6's work great. I chamfered the corners of the 2x6, and it slid right in but tight enough that you would have to pry it back out. There are marks for the holes for tie down locations, and mine were spot on. The...
  6. What option would you want that wasn’t offered

This one may sound trivial to most people, but to me it's going to be a challenge... I have really sensitive eyes in the dark. I have to point my side mirrors away from my eyes when commuting home in the evenings in the winter. I always seem to get an F150 with super bright headlights...
  7. Only got to drive it 4.6 miles

I wouldn't want the claim on my insurance. I was rear-ended really hard in my last vehicle. The guy who hit me even said in front of the cop "I was texting my wife and suddenly you were stopped". I was actually still going 25-30 mph, so he must have been flying. Anyway, my insurance rates...
  8. Quirky shifting?

You're right that the low gears are pretty clunky. I think the truck shifts several times up and down just to get out of the driveway, and you can feel each shift. Mine does the abrupt downshift, too. I find that the truck does everything it can to stay at exactly 1,500 rpm all the time...
  9. Quirky shifting?

Thanks for all this info. At least I feel like I'm not crazy or too picky since what I'm feeling is a known thing.
  10. Quirky shifting?

    Good to know. Thank you
  11. Quirky shifting?

I'm in Maine, too! Mine is also Velocity blue. I like your cap. It sounds like you're experiencing similar low-speed, low-rpm clunkiness. If you take off like a banshee it's nice and smooth, but I drive like an old man, and the shifting doesn't love that.
  12. New member introduction

That looks really good. The nice thing about the drop-in liner is I can use the points I got when I bought the truck to take $200 off. I think I might do that option. Thanks
  13. Quirky shifting?

I've had my Maverick about 2 weeks. The good news is that gas mileage is better than advertised, I love the simplicity of the controls, and there is a good balance between handling like a car but having a little higher vantage point. I like a lot of things, but what's driving my nuts is the...
  14. New member introduction

I just joined this forum. I ordered my Maverick XL mid-January and received it about 2 weeks ago. The dealer was shocked how fast it came because they have a backlog of orders from September/October that haven't arrived yet. His theory is that the XL has fewer chips due to having fewer...
