On my XLT, there isn’t one of these plastic boxes on the driver’s side. The exhaust pipe would appear to preclude one [identical or similar to the one on the passenger side] from being spec’s/installed.
No. This is underneath the bed of the truck. (Not that it matters, I suspect, but this is thev2.0 liter, with turbo charger, XLT, FX4 with the 53H, 4K tow package.)
It’s directly in front of the rear bumper and behind the passenger side wheel well.
Does anyone know what the plastic “box” behind the right rear wheel well is or what it’s purpose is? I’ve asked my dealer, but they can’t find any drawing for in the parts software and they have speculated that it’s just a” filler” designed to keep road wash, etc., from collecting behind the...
Mav22nc here again: I tried what you suggested. With the engine on and transmission in both “Park” and “Drive,” AND either pushing the + or - buttons in the TBC or squeezing the sliders, the message on the screen reads,”No trailer Attached.” Seems to me like it’s working working correctly.
From Mav22nc:
I live in the States. Got the notice in TBC software in the mail, made an appt at my dealer next day, got it fixed with software update 2 days later. Haven’t towed since then, but the mechanic who did the update and the head of the service Dept said I’m good to go.
I’m experiencing high engine revs (3500 - 5000) when I slow down for a stop sign or light, AND I’m towing my camping trailer and gear ~ 1200 - 1400#. My Maverick is a 2022 XLT with FX4 and 4K tow packages.
Anyone else have this experience? Thoughts? Thx
