So do the Rough Country struts have the same extended and collapsed dimensions as the stock struts? How are they getting a 2” lift out of them?

It appears that my right front shock/strut is leaky. I would like to replace the struts with something better than OEM. My 2022 AWD Maverick is neither lifted nor lowered. I’ve looked on Rock Auto, but I didn’t find any other options. What better shocks are available for my Maverick?

UPDATE: I just picked up my Maverick from the dealer this afternoon, and confirmed with a trailer connector tester that the problem is fixed. The service advisor said that they had to replace the "brake relay module" and then program it.

I discovered this tonight. Set the brake controller gain to a value of 4.0 or less and the brake lights function normally. Any value 4.5 or higher and the brake lights stay on without pressing the brake pedal. This is most likely a software problem. At least for now, I can drive around safely...

The dealer reprogrammed the brake controller today, and that still didn’t fix the issue.

The device I used to test this simulated a trailer connection (the Maverick thought a trailer was plugged in). The brake lights (and trailer brakes) came on and stayed on after about 10mph.

Just a thought, if the brake pedal switch was randomly making contact, we would see cruise control likewise randomly cancelling or not able to be set at all. I’ve experienced none of that.

I agree. It does not sound like a switch problem. It sounds more like a software issue that triggers the brake lights after a certain speed. It’s likely that a lot of people have this problem and just haven’t realized it yet.

Did the dealer solve this problem for you? If so, what did they do to solve it?

I towed this trailer with mine before receiving word of the recall and the trailer brakes seemed to work fine.
