Finally filled up today. Overall average was 37mpg. The temperature where I live is somewhere close to blast furnace, so the AC has been cranking this tank. I believe that is affecting mpg more than tires.
I didn't realize it was some sort of safety thing. Too late now anyway! My Z71 and Transit 150 (it's a unibody too) don't have anthing like that. I look at it this way. If someone hit me hard enough to puncture that mini spare, the truck is totaled. If I get a flat while I'm out fishing and have...
I have three stock steelies with tires left after using one for a full size spare. If you're willing to pick up in Panama City and want to ditch the donut they are free for the taking. Have the donut too if anyone wants it.
I just put Bronco Sport wheels on my XL and here is what I had to do to use a factory steelie and 225/65R17 as my spare. There is a bracket to prevent the spare from shifting forward. The space between that bracket and hitch was just slightly too small to fit the full size. (I believe if you...
Yes, it's a Werner universal from Lowes. I shortened the uprights 7" on mine. The black tabs slide and provide tie down points. If you look at my bed rail you'll see I put down 4' lengths of aluminum flatstock and set the rack on that. It helps distribute the weight on the cheezy plastic bed...
Thanks for the discount code! The shipping speed was unreal. And for anyone wondering, the 1" level works perfectly on the hybrid. Keep up the great work!
I kept the same tire size in the interest of fuel economy, but I'll update if I see a drop. The level kit was $90, self installed (I do have an appointment to get the alignment checked). I have been down a stupid steep, not well maintained, boat ramp to launch my kayaks. Granted I had the yaks...
Fixed the tire problem today. Not what I originally planned but I snapped up a pair of Bronco Sport wheels with Continental CrossContact ATRs already mounted.
Update on the problem correction. 1" rough country level installed on the hybrid. Very easy install for any shadetree. Now to get the A/Ts to solve the other half and get the next camping trip scheduled.
Inaugural camping trip with the Hybrid. It was loaded to the gills with equipment and water, as the campsite I use is remote. Averaged 36mpg with the weight and yaks acting as sails. The hybrid handled tame forest roads great. Biggest takeaway from the trip is the Continentals suck. They don't...
This one isn't super bright. Just wanted some light for rigging fishing poles at night /unloading camping gear without being obnoxious to neighboring campers.
I have a short 2.8 mile commute. Speed limit is 35 with four lights on the route. This is my best so far, and I was doing the speed limit. This was done in Normal mode, not Eco.
