On Thursday volunteering with a group at FMSC, friends early 2000's CRV had a flat when we finished the shift. His spare was rusted tight, so we tossed the flat in the back of my Maverick and headed to the nearest tire shop. They pulled out the offending screw and patched it. We had the tire...
I search the threads on keys and only came up with posts about making an FOB key copy.
I'd like to make a key to use just on the tailgate of my XL. Do not need or want the FOB part.
Note I did get 2 FOB keys, but want a key for just locking and unlocking the tailgate when the FOB key is still...
Ford sends out an email for new tires exactly one-year after I take delivery. Hypothesizing about the reasoning
A. Ford thinks everyone needs new tires every year
B. The OEM tires have an expected life of about one year
C. The usual spam
D. All of the above
(I know it could be a poll, but the...
Majority of the time I don't have rear seat passengers. I often leave the rear seat bottom raised for access to gloves and tie downs stored underneath. For the long time owners has anyone else driven for an extended time with the rear seat raised. Does it cause extra wear/strain on the latch so...
Pulling forward a couple posts about Ford's underground storage.
Ford has a place for the leftover 2024's if they can't get the backup camera fixed. :sneaky:

There have been several posts about the 8 speed transmission lugging or other undesirable behavior. Posting some service bulletins and resources that may be useful.
The recalls are from other models using the same transmission. Generally the issues were likely solved, but may resurface in...
I'm usually hauling stuff for DIY projects. First thing I do when loading is grab a pair of gloves from the storage area under the back seat. I often forget to press the unlock button twice to unlock all doors.
There's a section in the keyless entry settings that describes how to switch from...
Here is my solution to organize the USB the cable. Saw several posts on custom mounts, but that's not my preference. A couple USB right angle adapters improved cable management. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNYGSDPX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
I'm not sure if this is by design, or quirk of my truck. If the climate control is off, the auto start stop is also deactivated. I found no reference to this feature in the owners manual, but I like it. Included image indicates the climate control on/off for reference.
The odd blank space under the headlights for the 2025 model seems to be a trend. 2024 GMC Acadia and Terrain did the same thing, although not quite as pronounced. I really don't understand design.
I saw a couple posts about the Hitchmate Truckstep, so decided to get one. Here are some pictures with measurements in case it's helpful. Spare is the mini, so the larger spare will have different clearance.
I like that it's compact when folded, yet extends out beyond the lowered tailgate.
Picking up a screw in the tire is what happens when most the the miles are to home improvement stores.
It's right on the edge of the sidewall, so not repairable. I was going to replace the tires before winter anyway, but this accelerated the timeline. On the fence between Falken Wildpeak A/T...
A number of others have posted the M8 bolts and tie down anchors DIY. In my DIY the additional part behind the anchor is cut 1.5" from an old bicycle inner tube. Keeps the anchor slightly raised from the bed making it easier to grab and hook in the straps...
The original Maverick launched on this day in 1969. Congrats to those of you who have one from that era.
For a little nostalgia and a nod to the current favorite truck:

No content yet, but the site is live.

Anyone know how far in advance of order banks opening that the site goes live?
There are a lot of us on the forum waiting for their Maverick. Sometimes we need to be creative to get the job done until the Maverick arrives.
Here is the trusty Gen2 Escape bringing home a patio table where the glass top was destroyed by a hail storm. Securely strapped to a cargo carrier for...
Many posts about how the size of the Maverick compares to trucks of decades gone by. Thought I'd post a trim level compare.
I found a brochure for 1988 F-150. Generally speaking, the Maverick XL is comparable to 1988 F-150 Lariat trim level.
Check out those standard tire sizes on a full size...
