  1. Hybrid Heater Performance?

One thing you might want to think about is aftermarket heated seats. I had stock heated cloth seats in a 2012 Subaru, and they were awesome. When we purchased my 2010 FFH I installed carbon fiber heating pads under the cloth covers of the seats, they aren't as good as the Subaru's were, but...
  2. MPG Maverick vs Camry

The Camry has a 1.6 kWh HVB and the Maverick has a 1.1 kWh HVB. That is a ~50% increase in useable capacity can significantly impact city fuel mileage (probably by at least 10%). The bigger battery allows you to have more electric only miles, gives a bigger reservoir to store braking energy...
  3. 2.5 liter for the Maverick only?

The 2.0 used in the Ford Hybrids (2013+ Fusion & CMax hybrids) is in the same family, just as a destroked and with a smaller bore version.
  4. Anyone install hybrid engine cover?

This post: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/engine-cover-installed-in-2-0l-ecoboost-maverick-engine-bay-from-escape.4748/post-153502 Gives the same cover, and the posts that need to make it fit on the 2020+ Escape hybrid, but I don't believe anyone has attempted it as of yet...
  5. Does anyone else want front tow hooks on their Maverick?

There is one possible way around the issue of missing tow hook mounts, and that is to get a tow flat mount plate installed once they are widely available. At that point you wouldn't have a tow hook, but you'd have a point to mount something to be used as one.
  6. 2nd major issue with the Maverick hybrid, owned less than a week. 12v Dead as a doornail

Most autoparts stores will do a test on a 12 volt battery for free. Additionally with the key off, you could use a dc voltage multitester, and if you see anything under 12.5 that battery needs to be replaced.
  7. Flat towing Hybrid Maverick why limited to 70mph?

There are two reasons why, AFAIK, for the 70 mph limit and the necessity to start every couple hours. The speed limit is because I'm flat tow mode the high voltage battery, hvb, relay is not closed. This means that the only cooling the coils, stators, and transmission lube is getting is...
  8. Hybrid Heater Performance?

Yes it will break it if you use hot. Even cold water can if the difference is too big.
  9. Battery life expectancy for hybrid Maverick?

The failure by Nissan to support newer packs in older cars is one of the reasons why I did not purchase a Leaf 6 odd years ago when I bought my first Fusion Hybrid. At the time you could get a 2010-2012 Leaf with a battery that only had under 30 miles of range for nothing. However the only...
  10. Battery life expectancy for hybrid Maverick?

Look up replacement costs for a Second Gen Ford Fusion hybrid battery. They are about the same size in KWh. You can get batteries pulled from wrecks for ~$500 plus labor to install, or a rebuilt pack from a company like Greentec auto for $3k. I believe the ford replacement cost is ~$5K...
  11. How to get more MPG from hybrid Maverick?

Although I do not currently have a Maverick (awaiting an AWD hybrid version and doing research), my family does own 2 Ford Fusion Hybrids, a 2010, and a 2018. I have driven the 2010 for 6+ plus years, and we've had the 2018 for 2+ now. Here are some observations that I have made in that time...
  12. Starting with dead battery

Although I do not currently have a Maverick (awaiting a AWD hybrid version and doing research), my family does own 2 Ford Fusion Hybrids, a 2010, and a 2018. One thing to keep in mind that is different from a convention car vs a Hybrid, is that although both do have a 12 volt battery, in the...
