  1. Flat Tire Surprise

I can't tell you why it works that way but it does. If you swap hubs with the right handed thread on the left and vice versa the lugs will loosen themselves in short order. I've seen it happen many times.
  2. Flat Tire Surprise

Many medium duty trucks and school buses have right and left threaded lugs. Heavy duty tractors and trailers may too, but I never worked on any of them so I don't know.
  3. Bedliner - Drop-in vs Spray-in - Help me Decide!

My truck has the Ford factory DIBL. It doesn't seem slick and it is fairly thick so it should provide good protection. Maybe it's not the best option but it came with the truck and I see no reason spending more money for something different.
  4. Flat Tire Surprise

    Made by Chicago Pneumatic. Interesting.
  5. Flat Tire Surprise

Just for the record what is the correct socket size? I think I'm going to put a breaker bar and socket in the storage area just in case.
  6. Which Flip Up Tonneau Cover?

I just ordered a Rough Country tri-fold flip hard cover. Should be here by the end of the week. I'll get it installed and let you know what I think about it.
  7. Trading my 22 eco boost for 24 hybrid today

I don't blame you for keeping that truck. It's sharp. I bought the EB instead of the hybrid because I don't drive as much as I used to so gas mileage isn't much of a thing for me now and I like the extra power of the EB engine. Plus I wanted the towing package and AWD.
  8. Random sighting

Right. It was truly the end for performance and good looks for most cars. Some of them still had big cube engines but they didn't make the same power as a few years before.
  9. Random sighting

When the the Maverick first came out in the summer of 1969 as a '70 model it was a decent looking car. After the big bumpers got hung on it it '73, not so much. A guy I went to high school with got a brand new '74 orange and white Grabber with a 302 and a 3 speed in the floor. He thought it was...
  10. Got my Maverick Back!

I have a place on the west side of Lake Whitney and the damned deer are everywhere. We are over run with them around here. Sort of like fire ants but worse. One time I hit one head on and another time one jumped out of the ditch and ran into the side of the truck. The neighbors feed them and...
  11. Will the dealer charge me over MSRP

I wouldn't pay a penny over list for any new truck or car. I bought my truck last month and got $2742 off list and only a $148 DOC fee. Deals are out there if you look.
  12. Radio does not pull in any stations, just produces static

Maybe the antenna wasn't properly connected to the radio at the factory. If it were mine it would go back to the dealer.
  13. Got my Maverick Back!

The repair looks very good. Where were you when you hit the deer?
  14. Uneven tirewear

    A picture would help.
  15. Ford Mobile Service - Which services?

Could be that they are short handed on techs. Almost every dealer or garage you go to has help wanted signs out for qualified techs. Young people don't want to learn a trade anymore, much less one that sometimes requires hard, dirty work and that creates a shortage of labor.
  16. Experiences with Major Repairs OR Extended Warranty

When I was pricing them last month some of the plans were priced the same no matter if 100 or 200 dollar deductible was selected.
  17. ANY FREEBIES WITH PURCHASE OF A MAVERICK?

The truck was listed on the dealer's website with the discount. When I asked for a final price, I got hit with the add-ons. It was whole laundry list of worthless items that had no value for me. The window tint was already done but they let the paint sealant and the rest of it slide. After some...
