I hate to say it but that's the way of the current system works. You can almost guarantee all dealers do this. I'd recommend placing a 24 order with another dealer or even multiple dealers. Priority code is important but allocation is king.
I believe last year the order banks were supposed to open up in June but then got pushed back to July/August before finally opening in September. It's critical to find a good dealer and salesperson who communicates well so you can submit your order as soon as the banks open.

Finally scheduled for production for the Ecoboost truck I ordered.
I'm excited but still holding out hope for the Hybrid. ;)
I placed two separate orders (1 hybrid, 1 EB), from the two largest dealers in my area (NE FL) on the day the order banks opened last Sept. Both base XLTs. I have yet to be scheduled for either.
That's exactly what it looks like! haha
Which makes me think they are probably not Toyota renderings.
Worst case scenario would be for them to go full Hyundai and make it a RAV4 with a truck bed.
I'm in a similar boat. When the Maverick launched I was initially interested but tentative to purchase a first year model. I like many didn't anticipate the high demand which has only been exaggerated largely by high gas prices in 2022 and continued supply plan chain issues. I ordered a hybrid...
I added BAP to both of my orders (XLT hybrid and XLT ecoboost).
I'm not crazy about the BAP interior on the XLT but everything else looks great.
I'm hoping the increased MSRP may help me get scheduled. 🤷♂️
If you think the tread will last you until you trade in.. it's not worth it.
If you NEED new tires.. it's a safety thing and I would buy the cheapest set I could find.
Walmart has very good prices on both tires and installation.
The Prius and Prius Prime are tempting. Toyota has definitely stepped up their game with the new generation.. but I can't bring myself to be a Prius owner. :ROFLMAO:
I haven't been waiting nearly as long as most of the folks on this board.
I ordered on the first day orders opened last September.
I ordered an EB and Hybrid from two separate dealers, both two of the larger dealers in NE FL.
Neither have scheduled despite being "clean".
If I don't have...
Whatever man.. if it makes you feel cool being a jerk on the internet.. go you. 👍
The article was informative. Like I said I can only speak to what I see around me.
