I say "giving" the battery 1 amp.
But is the "system" giving 1 amp?
Or is the battery only taking 1 amp?
I think the second. It is a crappy 12 volt battery.
When put on shore power with a 6 amp wall charger, it still only draws 1 amp or less. Yet next morning, 12.1 or 12.2 volts.
🤷🏻♂️
When running the truck after a 9 day sit, it was only giving 7 amps to a very low 12 volt battery
After an hour of driving, it basically was only trickle charging at 1 amp. After 90 minutes the 12 volt only came up to 59% and I had no further time to charge. It will sit limbo-land in the 55%...
FWIW
I just let my 22 Mav sit for 9 days over the Holidays.
My 12 volt battery went down 20%.
My HV hybrid battery went down 10%.
The truck went into "sleep" mode but I never got any messages. Just when I came back, no dome lights when I opened the door. That got me suspicious. I...
This and the stock battery is maybe a PoS.

Ya all know how some crackers in the box are toasted just a little bit more than others? Ever notice some Doritos get more seasoning than others?
Same concept for tires.
There are variations in any tire. Any make. Any model.
I had one batch last 80,000 miles.
I had one batch last 25,000...
It been on every passenger and light truck tire I've had in the past 20 years.
It is the legal limit so any inspection officer (or tire installer or owner) can tell at quick glance.
Different size, sure. That means 10mm OR greater size difference.
Different wear by 1, 2, or 3mm, I'm not buying that story. But I get it they probably said that.
Sorry.
The 12 v "maintainer" is not going to do anything about maintaining the high voltage hybrid battery.
Not running a hybrid for a long interval is the absolute worst thing you can do to it, short of crashing it into a tree.
When new and shiny, you can PROBABLY survive letting it sit 2-3...
I almost did that with a 900# unit.
In the end I used an enclosed trailer because my trip was long and inclement weather more than likely.
But I would have done that in your case.
👍🏻
Most experts agree, the in dash MPG runs about 5% higher than reality over the long term. You can change the formula the truck uses, or mentally subtract 5%.
I get it that fronts and rears may wear at different rates. But never understood why you should rotate back and forth every 5k.
Rotating once at about the half-way point should be fine.
