Tart it up all you want, it's still a cheap lightweight little truck. No way you could convince me to spend $40K+ on one. At that price point, I'm going a bit more and looking at a Ranger.
I regularly mix up my Maverick and F-250 fobs because they're the same. I panic when I can't unlock one or the other and then realize I'm using the wrong fob. Life was so much easier when we just used keys. Both my trucks are XLs and use a key for the ignition that I am forever grateful for.
Somewhere buried back in the archives when I've been unable to find it was a post in late 2021 or early 2022 identifying the source of the non-sync Infotainment system and it was just a relabeled part that Ford apparently had in inventory that was used on a previous model car (2017 and earlier...
In 1995 when I bought my first F350 crew cab, the sales manager at my local Ford dealer asked if this was for work. When I told him no, this was a personal vehicle, he asked why was I buying a crew cab truck. When I told him that the Suburban that I really wanted at the Chevy dealer across the...
I would have gone ahead and sprung for the 4K tow package even though I have a F-250 for tow/haul needs. Then I would have ordered a second XLT hybrid for my daughter.
I'm not sure when free loaner cars became an expectation. I guess that's the only thing that might possibly motivate dealers with piss-poor service departments.
I've got a BM2 battery monitor tied across the battery terminals of all 3 of my Fords (Mav, F250, Explorer). Each BM2 stores 30 days of voltage info but each time I walk down the driveway I tend to download the history for all 3 vehicles. At $20 each they're cheap info.
Another handy option is installing a BM2 bluetooth battery monitor right across the battery terminals. They're only around $26 and let's you know what the battery's SOC is and the app keeps a history of battery voltage.
Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Do you have a local auto parts store that installs batteries for free (Advanced, Performance, O'Reilly, NAPA, etc)? Another option is if a friend/neighbor could do this for you. It's really easy.
